- Set up a humidifier when the air is very dry in your house. Avoid sunbathing. This can aggravate your skin. The heat can also cause your condition worse.
- Eliminate allergens. Eczema can be caused by an allergy. Common culprits are products that are in contact with your skin, such as creams, perfumes, detergents, etc.
- Check your diet. Food allergies can also trigger eczema, especially in children. Common culprits are dairy, wheat, citrus fruits, eggs, peanuts and fish.
- Make a paste of the herb goldenseal and vitamin E oil. Use goldenseal in powder form and mix with a little vitamin E oil, add a small amount of honey and a paste. Apply to infected area.

- Try evening primrose, flaxseed black currant, or salmon oil. Use according to bottle directions. They all contain essential fatty acids that help lubricate the skin.
- Use the herb dandelion, myrrh, pau d'arco and red clover. Use as a tea or take in capsule form. They are useful for healthy skin. Take advantage of all of them alternately for best results.
